Electronic Discovery Services

Creatively, efficiently, and cost-effectively assisting clients and law firms with all aspects of electronic discovery, information governance, cyber-security, and litigation readiness and planning.

Because of the large volume of electronic data stored by organizations, eDiscovery can be complex. And although electronic files are naturally more dynamic, preserving the original file properties, content and metadata, such as time-date stamps, and author and recipient information, is critical. By doing so, it can help you to eliminate claims of tampering with evidence (if there are any) during the litigation process.

DFLAB offers clients an array of services, including litigation readiness planning and all aspects of e-discovery and information governance, as well as litigation support, including motion practice and trials.

eDiscovery Process

  • 1. Early Case Assessment (ECA)

Early case assessment (ECA) is the practice of estimating the risk to prosecute or defend a legal case. The data gathered during early case assessment is used to help estimate risk and guide case strategy, such as decisions to go to trial or settle.

  • 2. Data Collection

eDiscovery data collection involves the extraction of potentially relevant ESI from its native source (server, database, emails, desktop, mobile device, cloud server, archive, etc.) into a separate repository which is maintained for a specific legal matter

  • 3. Data Analytics

The ESI is collected, analysed and formatted for use in court. Analysis is critical for cost saving because it helps to weed out irrelevant data before processing takes place. It’s also critical to keep eDiscovery activities well documented.

  • 4. Reporting

Our team will provide detailed reporting at every phase of a matter, including collection, pre-processing, ingestion, processing, review (technology-assisted review), hosting, production, and post-production litigation support phases, such as depositions and trial.
